Services for Bettie McKenzie of Wesson are 2 p.m., Saturday,April 20, at Old St. John M. B. Church in Wesson with burial inFriendship Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mrs. McKenzie, 78, died April 13, 2002, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 1, 1924, toCharlie Washington and Lula Johnson Washington.

She was a homemaker. She was a resident of Pinecrest NursingHome in Hazlehurst. She was a member of Old St. John M. B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, J. W.McKenzie; her son, J. W.; and her brothers, Charlie Washington Jr.,Eugene Washington, Booker T. Washington, and George Washington.

Survivors are her stepchildren, Keith, Marshall, and ThelmaPendilton and Sonny Hooks; her brother, Charlie Frank Robinson ofWesson; her sisters, Marie Pendleton and Laurasteen Washington,both of Wesson, and Mary Savoie of Brookhaven; and a host of niecesand nephews.
