The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars finished in second placeSaturday in the finals of the Academy AA State Slowpitch SoftballTournament held at the Hansel King Sports Complex.

In the championship game, Leake Academy rallied to beatBrookhaven Academy 18-12 for the title. Earlier in the day, Leakehad rallied again to clip Brookhaven 11-10 in extra innings andhanded the Lady Cougars their first loss of the day after twoimpressive wins.

Brookhaven drilled Simpson County 15-5 in the opener. Pitchingfor the Lady Cougars was Lindsey Holmes.

Coaching the Lady Cougars were Neal King and Ricky Allen.
