Services for Ruby Nell Palmer Steed of Summit are 11 a.m.,Thursday, June 20, at Hartman Funeral Home in McComb with burial inJohnston Chapel Cemetery in Summit.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Steed, 46, died June 18, 2002, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. She was born in Flora on Sept. 8, 1955, to Allen Palmer ofSummit and Hazel Burkhalter of Magnolia.

She was a dog-groomer/breeder. She was a member of JohnstonChapel United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her brother, Ronnie Palmer ofJackson.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband,Kenneth W. Steed; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jana Steedof McComb; her daughters and son-in-law, Melissa Steed and Jamieand Jennifer Steed Newman of Brookhaven; her sisters, Ann Tiptonand Marie McCormack, both of Summit; her brothers, Larry Palmer andGene Palmer, both of Jackson; her granddaughter, Morgan Newman; andnumerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are Allen Bell, Ryan Ezell, Johnathon McDaniel, JohnRoberts, Chris Williams, Bradley Rials, Scott McDaniel, and BradVan Norman. Honorary pallbearer is Ronnie Barton.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
