Services for Roosevelt Burks of Bude were 10 a.m., Friday, June21, at Triumph Church of God in Christ with burial in the NationalCemetery in Natchez. Marshall Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Burks, 73, died June 15, 2002. He was born in Port Gibson onMarch 9, 1929, to Span Burks and Olivia Burks.

He was retired. He was a member of Triumph Church of God inChrist. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was known forhelping people who were in need.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his sons, Reginald Burks, Roosevelt Burks, CarltonBurks, and Gabriel Burks, all of Detroit, Mich.; his daughters,Tanesha Burks and Wanda Burks, both of Detroit; and ninegrandchildren, one niece and two nephews.
