Services for Doyle Lee Collier of Florence are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, July 10, at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in Magee withburial in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Collier, 78, died July 7, 2002, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. He was born in Choctaw County on Dec. 13, 1923, to ConnerBenford Collier and Lou Vinla Upchurch Collier Pittman.

He was a lithographer. He was a past president of the PrintersUnion in Jackson. He was a veteran of WWII, earning the WWIIVictory Medal, Purple Heart, European African Middle EasternService Medal, and the American Theatre Service Medal.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Edwin Colon Pittmanand Ford Pittman; and his sister, Mary Gladys Richardson Ford.

Survivors are his wife, Roma Garner Collier; his sons, NevelBenford Collier of Brookhaven and Roger Dale Collier of Magee; hisdaughter, Debra Collier Suthoff of Florence; his brother, CharlesPittman of Branson, Mo.; his sisters, Pauline McClure of Cleveland,Jimmie Sanford of Houston, Texas, and Iva Jean Litton ofTuscaloosa, Ala.; and three grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.
