Services for Lucille Leonard of Meadville are 10 a.m., Tuesday,July 30, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MidwayCemetery.

Mrs. Leonard, 86, died July 28, 2002, at Hospice of CentralMississippi in Ridgeland. She was born in Franklin County on Jan.21, 1916, to the late Sidney Nathaniel and Annie MullinsThornton.

She was a retired telephone operator, a caregiver and ahomemaker. She was a member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, GusVincent Leonard; two brothers, Rudolph Thornton and Sidney EarlThornton; and a sister, Bessie Higginbotham.

Survivors are her son, James Vincent Leonard of Vicksburg; herdaughter, Katherine Leonard Jones of Meadville; her brother,Herbert Thornton of Meadville; her sisters, Mae Ivey and ErnestineMcCartney, both of Centerville, and Annie Laura Summerall and PearlKent Holland, both of Meadville; seven grandchildren; sevengreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
