Services for Fredrick “Rick” Briggs of Jackson are 10 a.m.,Tuesday, Aug. 6, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with gravesideservices at 12:30 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery inLincoln County.

Visitation is 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Briggs, 40, died Aug. 3, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center. Hewas a native of Brookhaven and a longtime resident of Jackson. Hegraduated from Millsaps College with a B.A. in art.

He was the former owner of Posh Flowers. He was known for hismural paintings and floral designs. He was a member of St. Philip’sEpiscopal Church.

Survivors are his mother, Cynthia Briggs of Jackson; his sister,Melanie Holley of Brandon; his brother, James Briggs of Jackson;and two nephews.
