Services for George Bedford of Meadville are 11 a.m., Wednesday,August 7, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MidwayCemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4:30-10 p.m., and Wednesday from 8-11a.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Bedford, 83, died Aug. 4, 2002 at V.A. Medical Center inJackson. He was born in Franklin County on May 20, 1919, to thelate Howell N. and Lucretia Wactor Bedford.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Sarepta BaptistChurch. He was a disabled World War II army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, GertrudeBedford; three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are his sons, George Michael Bedford of Summit, andNorman Bedford of Roxie; his daughters, Wilmuth Ann Redmond ofPetal, and Marilyn Bedford of Duffield, Va.; his brothers, RobertBedford of Mobile, Ala., and Jerry Bedford of Roxie; his sister,Irene Emfinger of Meadville; and seven grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.
