Services for Ethlyn Dale “Tir” Turnage of Monticello are 2 p.m.,Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Monticello Baptist Church with burial in NewHebron Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Turnage, 83, died Sept. 2, 2002, at Lawrence CountyHospital. She was born in Prentiss on Jan. 4, 1919, to John SebronDale Sr. and Stella Johnston Dale.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Monticello BaptistChurch, where she was a member of W.M.U. She was a member of theMonticello Women’s Club and a charter member of the CoterieClub.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, General E.A. “Beby” Turnage; her brother, John Sebron Dale Jr.; and hersisters, Nell Dale and Mrs. Bert Bayliss.

Survivors are her son, Thomas A. Turnage of Monticello; herdaughter, Lyn Dale Turnage Reynolds of Monticello; her sister,Muncie Kimbrell Smith of Brookhaven; and four grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.
