Services for Emma Eugenia Massie Lowe Herring of Hazlehurst are2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemerin Brookhaven with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Mrs. Herring, 95, died Sept. 12, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Copiah County on Sept. 9, 1907, toDavid Milton Massie IV and Nona Edna Sumrall Massie. She was agraduate of Mississippi State College for Women.

She was a retired teacher and businesswoman. She was a member ofthe DAR. She was a member of the Episcopal church.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Aaron Everard Lowe andClifford Howard Herring; her daughters, Carolyn Lowe Deese andJeanette Lowe Lucas; her brother, William Massie; her sisters,LaBette Massie Hewitt and Edna Massie Sawyer; and her stepsons,Graham Herring, Peter Herring, and Charles Herring.

Survivors are her son-in-law, Jerry Lucas of Brookhaven; herstepdaughter-in-law, Pauline Herring of Franklin County; hersister-in-law, Nell Lowe of Jackson; her granddaughters, AareenDeese Reese of Statesville, N.C., and Jane Lucas Givens of Wesson;her grandsons, Jonathan Tucker Deese of Charlotte, N.C., JerrellKeith Lucas of Bogue Chitto, and Jeffrey Kenneth Lucas of Brandon;and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren andstepgreat-grandchildren.
