Services for Grady Ralph Blackwell of Brookhaven were 10 a.m.,Monday, Oct. 14, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMallalieu Cemetery.

Mr. Blackwell, 83, died Oct. 12, 2002, at New Dawn RetirementCenter in Ruth. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 12, 1918, toJoe Aaron Blackwell and Nora Estell Berry Blackwell.

He was a retired welder. He was a Mason in Brookhaven Lodge No.241. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Union HallBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sarah RuthBlackwell; his brothers, Clifton, Dudley and Felix Blackwell; andhis sister, Lucille Watson.

Survivors are his sons, Donald Eugene Blackwell and Darrell RayBlackwell, both of LaCombe, La., and Glenn Blackwell of Baker, La.;his daughter, Linda Carol Warren of LaCombe; his stepdaughter, JoAnn Myrick of Brookhaven; his brother, Lynwood Blackwell of Baker;his sisters, Irene Jordan of Brookhaven, Christine Walls of BatonRouge, Annie Ruth Fryer of Pride, La., and Billie George andFrances Adams, both of Baker; and a host of grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.
