Lady Cougars zap Trinity

LEARNED – Mallory Logan’s 12 points directed Brookhaven Academyto a season-opening 60-16 Monday night triumph over Natchez Trinityin the Rebul Academy Girls Tournament. Ten points by Lauren Smithand Allyson Picket joined Logan in double figures.
Brookhaven Academy plays the host team tonight, starting at 6:30with the junior high game, followed by the varsity at 7:45.
The Lady Cougars roared to a 36-4 halftime lead over Trinity.Pickett grabbed 7 rebounds, Michelle Thibodeaux 6 and Angie Davisand Kelli Byrd 5 apiece. Byrd also had 3 assists and 3 steals.Logan had 3 assists and 2 steals.
In junior high action, Brookhaven blitzed Trinity 38-18, led byEmily Langley’s 9 points and 7 rebounds. Four points were scored byAnna Bishop, Jessica Diamond, Alex Grant and Holly Case. Sally BethAllred and Sydney Moak grabbed 4 rebounds. Maddie Allen had 4steals and 2 assists.
