Services for Macy Newson of Brookhaven are 1 p.m., Saturday,Dec. 7, at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 8 p.m., with family hourfrom 7-8 p.m., at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Newson, 79, died Dec. 3, 2002, at St. Dominic Hospital inJackson. She was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 20, 1923, toArchie Pittman and Pearlie Pittman.

She was retired. She was a member of Bethany Missionary BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillieNewson; and her brothers, James Oliver Pittman, Abraham Pittman,Euriah Pittman, Percy Troy Stovall and Lee Watson Pittman.

Survivors are her daughters, Willie Pearl McCall and Ruby LeeNewson, both of Brookhaven, and Alice “Ollie” Newson of Dallas,Texas; her sons-in-law, the Rev. R.C. McCall of Brookhaven andWillie Wright of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Archie Calvin Pittmanof Brookhaven; her sisters, Celestine Eley, Christine Hayes, BettyJean Craig and Jewelene Buie, all of Brookhaven, and Annie Rawls ofMonticello; and 10 grandchildren and 14-great-grandchildren.
