Services for Dexter Byrd of Meadville are 11 a.m., Saturday,Dec. 28, at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with burial inGreenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Byrd, 64, died Dec. 25, 2002, at his residence. He was bornin Natchez on Nov. 8, 1938, to Ben and Mary Etta Arnold Byrd.

He was a member of the Christlife fellowship. He was a Navyveteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, GenevaByrd Floyd and Sybil Byrd Smith; and one niece.

Survivors are his wife, Gayle Hammett Byrd of Meadville; hisson, Allan Byrd of Natchez; his daughters, Janet Good and ConnieTaylor, both of Meadville; his brothers, Don Byrd of Sanger, Texas,Bennie Byrd of Natchez, and Tom Allen “Jack” Byrd of Meadville; hissisters, Guynell Hall of Natchez and JoAnn Hollingsworth of Baker,La.; and six grandchildren and 23 nieces and nephews.
