Services for Roy Wilcher of Mobile, Ala., formerly ofBrookhaven, are noon, Saturday, Jan. 18, at Metropolitan A.M.E.Church in Mobile with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 4-6 p.m., with family hour from 6-7p.m., at Cornerstone Church of God in Christ in Brookhaven. Small’sMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wilcher, 53, died Jan. 11, 2003, at St. Dominic’s Hospitalin Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on Oct. 20, 1949, to EdgarWilcher and Ruby Wilcher.
He was disabled. He was a 1967 graduate of Alexander HighSchool. He attended Utica Community College. He was a member ofMetropolitan A.M.E. Church. He was an Air Force veteran.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ernest and BeulahWilcher, and Willie and Rosetta Houston; and his niece, LynnPatrice Wilcher.
Survivors are his parents, Edgar and Ruby Wilcher of Brookhaven;his wife, Sonya Holland Wilcher of Mobile; his daughter, Tina Jonesof Detroit, Mich.; his brother and sister-in-law, Edgar WilcherJr., and Corliss, of Mobile; his sisters and brothers-in-law,Katherine and Charles Richardson of Brookhaven, Ethel and Pete Kingof Magnolia, Ark., and Nancy and Herman Sylvester of Jackson; fivenieces and five nephews; and numerous relatives and friends.
