Services for Lula Nell Anding Russell of Hazlehurst were 2 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 18, at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst withburial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Mrs. Russell, 98, died Jan. 16, 2003, at Central MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Copiah County to thelate George Alec and Mary Elizabeth Rea Anding.

She taught school, farmed and operated a business in Hazlehurstwith her husband. She was a member of First Baptist Church ofHazlehurst. She grew up in the Martinsville community and attendedthe University of Southern Mississippi.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 58 years,Roy L. Russell Sr.; son, Benjamin Anding Russell; and a daughter,Frances Kathleen Russell Lupo.

Survivors are her son, Roy L. ” Buddy” Russell Jr. ofHazlehurst; daughters, Nell Camille Russell Barlow of Clinton andShelia Letitia Russell Simon of Columbus; sister, Agnes “Tot”McDaniel of Murray, Ken.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst orGideon International.
