For 75 years now, Copiah-Lincoln Community College has beeneducating students and preparing them to enter the work force orproceed on to a major university.
Co-Lin officials, students, alumni, friends and special guestswill celebrate the school’s 75th anniversary Monday with openingceremonies on the Wesson campus.
Over the years, the school has prospered and grown beyond itsWesson boundaries to include a second campus in Natchez and aninstructional facility in Simpson County. Indeed, as the technologyera arrived, Co-Lin seized the opportunity and now studentsworldwide have access to classes via the Internet.
Co-Lin, though, is far more than just a high-quality educationalinstitution.
The school and the jobs it provides represent an important partof the economic livelihood of Wesson, Natchez, Brookhaven and othercommunities throughout its seven-county district. Furthermore, theschool’s adult education, continuing education and work forcetraining programs play an important role in this area’s ability toattract and keep business and industry.
Here’s hoping the school’s next 75 years are even greater thanits first three-quarters of a century. Happy Anniversary,Co-Lin!
