Services for Edna Lucille East of Brookhaven were today at GumGrove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Serviceswere conducted by the Rev. Jimmie Smith and the Rev. DavidFortenberry. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. East, 71, died Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. She was born in Lincoln County on May 18, 1931, to WiseMartin and Ada Oliver Martin.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Gum Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert H.East; a brother, Benny Martin; and two sisters, Geneva Case andGladys Stewart.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and ReginaEast, and David and Tammy East, all of Brookhaven; her daughter andson-in-law, Beverley and Mitchell Smith of Brookhaven; herbrothers, Wesley Martin of Sulfer, La., and Charles Martin ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Ethel Stewart of Brookhaven, PaulineAllred of Bogue Chitto, and Oranell Jarman of Clarksville, Va.; and13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Sam East, Blake East, Randy Martin, FredHerrmann, Terry Walker and Mitchell Smith.
