Services for James Melvin Ward of Pickens are 2 p.m., today atSouthern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rocky Hill MethodistChurch Cemetery in Camden.
Mr. Ward, 75, died Feb. 6, 2003, at his residence. He was bornin Madison County on Oct. 27, 1927, to Anna L. Fowler and Leo GuyWard.
He was a retired mechanic. He was a member of Rocky HillMethodist Church. He served in WWII as an Army medic in Panama.
His wife, Maxie Lorayne Ward, also died on Feb. 6, 2003.
Survivors are his son, Mike Ward of Pickens; his daughters,Sarah Munn of Brookhaven and Susie Burrell of Camden; hisstepdaughter, Nancy Carol Smith of Richland; his sisters, SallyWoods of Picayune, Juanita Beal of Pickens, and Naomi Hinds ofTerry; and six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sixstepgrandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
