Services for Ewell Eugene Gill Jr. of McComb are 10 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 22, at Catchings Funeral Home Chapel with burial inHollywood Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5-8 p.m., and Saturday from 9-10 a.m.,at the funeral home.
Mr. Gill, 73, died Feb. 18, 2003, at Columbia Health andRehabilitation Center. He was born in McComb on July 16, 1929, toEwell Eugene Gill Sr., and Fannye Elizabeth Billings Gill.
He was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. He was an Armyveteran, serving in the C Battery, 41st AA Gun Battalion from1948-1952. He also served as Airman Second Class and in the 79thFighter Bomber Unit (Atomic Bomb) with 17 months overseas at RAFStation in Woodbridge, England. He specialized in radar operationsserving at various airports and business firms in Mississippibefore retiring in 1994. He also served as a substance abusecounselor in Brookhaven. He was a member of Centenary UnitedMethodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and several other familymembers.
Survivors are his sons, Gary Lee Gill of McComb, Christian”Chris” Eugene Gill of Louisiana, and Daniel Edward Gill of Texas;a granddaughter; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or a churchor other charity.
