Services for Shelby Ray Maxwell of Monticello were 11 a.m.,today at Monticello Baptist Church with burial in MonticelloMunicipal Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Maxwell, 75, died Feb. 25, 2003, at V. A. Medical Center inJackson. He was born in Lawrence County on Oct. 16, 1927, to LeeOtis and Bal Weathersby Maxwell.

He was a retired maintenance worker with Kellwood Company. Hewas a member of Monticello Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.He was a member of the Monticello Fire Department. He was an Armyveteran of the Korean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers, Otisand Willard Maxwell.

Survivors are his wife, Louise Deare Maxwell of Monticello; hissons, Willard Maxwell of Clinton and Reggie Maxwell of Monticello;and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
