Services for Cora Irene Alford of Brookhaven, and formerly ofCalhoun County, are 3 p.m., Friday, April 18, at New Hope BaptistChurch in Yalobusha County with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m., and Friday until 2:30 p.m. atParker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.

Mrs. Alford, 76, died April 16, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn on March 19, 1927, to Douglas Chaney and Ida WintersChaney.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John Jack Alford; ason, Robert D. Kendall; and a stepdaughter, Bessie Harris.

Survivors are her sons, William D. Kendall of Hazlehurst, CecilWayne Kendall of Callahan, Fla., Larry Thomas Kendall and JohnnyRay Kendall, both of Odessa, Texas; her stepson, James D. Kendallof Robert Lee, Texas; her daughter, Beverly Jean Kendall ofBrookhaven; her stepdaughters, Robbie Cross and Katherine Arnold,both of Grenada; her brothers, Houston Melton and Wayne Melton,both of Grenada; and 38 grandchildren and severalgreat-grandchildren.
