Services for Willie “Bubba” Black Sr., of Sacramento, Calif.,formerly of Bogue Chitto, are 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, at Mt. OliveMissionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Black, 80, died April 29, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Sept. 14, 1922, to William Black andSarah Beard Black.

He was a retired carpenter in Lansing, Mich. He was a member ofMt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, GladysFranklin Black; a son, Billy Ray Black; and two brothers, JamesBlack and J.C. Black.

Survivors are his sons, Willie Black Jr., of Chicago, Ill., andEugene Black of Bogue Chitto; his daughters, Katherine Wilson ofBogue Chitto, Mary Knight Johnson of Sacramento, and Gloria Waddellof Oakdell, Mich.; his brothers, Floyd, K.C., J. Lester, Matthewand Robert Black, all of Michigan; his sisters, Lucille Chamber ofAla., and Annie Bell Owens and Alberta Porter, both of Michigan;and 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of niecesand nephews.
