Services for Cassie M. Butler of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m.,Saturday, May 10, at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 7-8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Butler, 83, died May 5, 2003 at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Bogue Chitto on Feb. 28, 1920, to RobertMilton and Nancy Milton.

She was retired. She was a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EnochButler; one granddaughter; five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and AnnaButler of Saugus, Calif., Hollis and Shirley Butler of Altadena,Calif., and Herbert and Margie Butler of Jackson; her daughters andson-in-law, Stacy and Arthur Pasley of Los Angeles, Calif., GailButler of Los Angeles, Ada “Helen” Marshall, Lolean Harris, NancyButler and Frances Butler, all of Bogue Chitto; 15 grandchildren;26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host ofnieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

James H. Phillips

Services for James H. Phillips of Pelahatchie are 2 p.m., today,at Ott& Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with burial in CrossroadsBaptist Church Cemetery.

The infant died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Children’s Hospital inCincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors are his parents, Clark and Katrina Phillips ofPelahatchie; sister, Tabitha Hope Phillips of Pelahatchie; maternalgrandparents, Mavis and Art Melton of Conway, Mo., and Billy andRuth Talley of Brookhaven; paternal grandparents, Harold andElizabeth Phillips of Pelahatchie; and maternal great-grandparents,James and Earl Perry of Madison.

Mrs. Smith, 70, died May 3, 2003 at Haven Hall. She was born inBrookhaven on Aug. 24, 1932, to Samuel Brown Sr., and ElviraBrown.

She was retired. She was a member of Mt. Wade M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, the Rev.Samuel L. Brown Jr.; and her sister, Johnie Mae BrownRoundtree.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Lee andLoretta Smith, and Randy L. and Shelia Smith, all of Brookhaven;her brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Christine Brown Sr.,and Isaac and Mary Robinson, all of Brookhaven; her sixgrandchildren; her two stepdaughters, and a host of nieces,nephews, relatives and friends.
