Services for James J. Hayes of Brookhaven are 3 p.m., Saturday,May 10, at Church of God with burial in Edwards Cemetery. CommunityFuneral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today beginning at 4 p.m., at the church.

Mr. Hayes, 71, died May 7, 2003. He was born in Pascagoula onSept. 16, 1931, to Robert Hayes and Martha Nowell.

He was a welder with Ingels Shipyard in Pascagoula. He served inthe army in Korea. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, UnitedNations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with two bronzeservice stars.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, IrmaHayes.

Survivors are his sons, James F. Hayes of Laurel, and Pete Huberof Bogue Chitto; his daughters, Patty Walker of Brookhaven, ShannonBowman of Laurel, and Diane Gramm of California; his brother, OdenHayes of Brookhaven; his sister, Agnes Bishop of Pascagoula; and 13grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
