Ruby W. Daggons

Services for Ruby W. Daggons of New Orleans, La., formerly ofMonticello, are 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, at Friendship MissionaryBaptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-6 p.m., at Williams Mortuary, andSaturday from 1-2 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Daggons, 80, died May 20, 2003, at Mercy Memorial MedicalCenter in New Orleans. She was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 1,1923, to Jessie Walker and Lizzie Hardy.

She was a retired self-employed restaurant owner. She was amember of First Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, TommieDaggons; a son, Keith Daggons; and her brother, Eugene Johnson.

Survivors are her sons, Andrew Daggons, Willie Ray Daggons, FredDaggons, Thomas Daggons, David Daggons, and James Earl Daggons, allof New Orleans; her daughter, Lizzie Lee White of New Orleans; herstepsons, Edward Grandberry of Monticello, and Marvin Woodie of NewOrleans; her sister, Mattie Warner of Monticello; and 25grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and onegreat-great-grandson.

Gwynetha Green Cochran

Private services for Gwynetha Green Cochran of Monticello areplanned. Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Cochran, 87, died May 22, 2003, at her residence.

She was a retired floral designer.

Nell LaVerne Turnbough Smith

Services for Nell LaVerne Turnbough Smith of Brookhaven are 3p.m., today at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRosehill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, 76, died May 20, 2003, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 15, 1926, to Jack EarlTurnbough and Carrie Mae Smith Turnbough.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Heucks Retreat BaptistChurch. She was active in Farm Bureau and Lady CattlemenAssociation.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, JackMorris Turnbough.

Survivors are her husband of 54 years, Steve J. Smith ofBrookhaven; her son, Steve J. Smith Jr., of Brookhaven; herdaughter and son-in-law, Pat Smith Walker and husband Durr ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Kara Walker Nations of Flowood, andLeigh Anne Walker of Jackson; and one great-grandchild, TuckerNations of Flowood.
