Services for Mary M. “Betty Rose” Owens of Springfield, Mass.,are noon Friday, June 13, at Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Churchwith burial in Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation is today from 1-5 p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home, andFriday from 11 a.m. – noon, at the church.
Mrs. Owens, 65, died June 5, 2003, at Bay State Medical. She wasborn in Brookhaven on May 10, 1938, to Mildred Peavy and Rosie MaeOwens Smith.
She was an aide at Munson’s Development Center. She was a memberof Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one grandson,Delbrico Cameron.
Survivors are her sons, Anthony Owens of Brookhaven, andDarrell, Raymond and Aaron Owens, all of Springfield, Mass.; herdaughters, Venus Ervin, Ramona Owens and Stephanie Owens, all ofSpringfield; her brothers, William Owens of Springfield, and JamesOwens and Wilson Owens, both of Brookhaven; her sisters, LindaSmith and Carolyn Adams, both of Springfield, Bobby Guyton ofJackson, and Mary Ann Washington of Bogue Chitto; 21 grandchildren;five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
