Services for Leola Reed of Brookhaven were 10 a.m., Tuesday,July 8, at Red Star Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reed, 84, died July 6, 2003, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Claiborne County on July 4, 1919, to Ernest ScottKnight and Lula Leola Moody Knight.

She was a homemaker and former telephone operator. She was amember of Red Star Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter DaySaints.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ivan Reed;two sisters, Frances Freeman and Ruby Pickett; and a brother, MackKnight.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and DannyFerguson of Brookhaven; her sister, Gladys Thornton of Vicksburg;her brothers, Bill Knight of Louisiana, John Knight of Vicksburg,and James Knight of Georgia; her grandchildren and their spouses,Sharon and Paul Hodges and Greg and Jeanie Smith, all ofBrookhaven, Holly Fowler of Wesson, and Rebecca Judd of MorganCity, La.; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Makenzie, Dane,Gracie, Nick and Joey.

Betty Thornton Wells

Services for Betty Thornton Wells of Baton Rouge, La., formerlyof Brookhaven, were June 2, 2003, at Stevendale Baptist Church withburial in Resthaven Cemetery. Rabenhorst Funeral Home was in chargeof arrangements.

Mrs. Wells, 70, died May 31, 2003, at Our Lady of the LakeRegional Medical Center.

She was a charter member of Stevendale Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of 51 years, J.D. Wells; herdaughters, Susan Thorne and Diana Hutson; her son, David Wells; hersisters, Juanita Smith and Peggy Lane; and six grandchildren.
