Services for Mary Jeanette Hodges Smith of Bogue Chitto were9:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel inMcComb with burial in Montgomery Baptist Cemetery in Summit. TheRevs. Cletus Moak and Tim Parker conducted the services.

Mrs. Smith, 64, died Aug. 19, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center inJackson. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 3, 1939, to JamesH. and Annie Ruth Wallace Hodges.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker. Shewas a longtime member of Montgomery Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Rex EdwardSmith; and a brother, Richard E. Hodges.

Survivors are her husband, Bracy Lee Smith of Bogue Chitto; herdaughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Leonard Fairchild of BogueChitto; her sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Deborah Smith,Billy Ray and Margo Smith, and Brad and Amy Smith, all of BogueChitto; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marylyn and Buddy Steele,and Bernita and Calvin Moak, all of Bogue Chitto, and Cindy andJohnny Williams of Wesson; her sister-in-law, Barbara Lane Smith ofBogue Chitto; her brothers and sister-in-law, James E. Hodges, andWayne and Nelda Hodges, all of Bogue Chitto; nine grandchildren;three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews andrelatives.

Pallbearers were Freddie Parker, Jimmy Harrod, Jonathan Hodges,Dusty Hodges, Ryan Williams and Wade Williams. Honorary pallbearerwas Tony Hodges.
