Lady Panthers hand Terry 10-0 shutout

The host Brookhaven Lady Panthers whipped the Terry LadyBulldogs 10-0 Tuesday in Division 6-4A slowpitch softball action atthe Hansel King Sportsplex.
Brookhaven improved its record to 13-4 on the season and 5-1 indivision play, a game behind Lawrence County. Brittany Smith wasthe winning pitcher.
Powering Brookhaven at the plate with a home run and a singlewas Kierstin Johnson. Allyson Wallace homered. Tripling was PortiaDickey. Ashley Sykes singled twice. Singling were JaRonda Moore andMegan Bateman.
In the junior varsity game, Brookhaven stompedTerry 19-1. For the Lady Panthers, Lauren Smith led with a home runand 2 singles. Danielle Boyd singled 3 times and doubled. ChristiMartin tripled and singled twice. Laura Waldrop ripped 3singles.
Hitting a pair of singles for Brookhaven were Kelly Vinson andTerri Hodges. Jana Wallace and Caryanne Rake singled.
Brookhaven, coached by Lisa Covington, entertains LawrenceCounty Tuesday. The JV game begins at 6 p.m. followed by thevarsity at 7.
