Services for James Ollie Stephens of Monticello are 3 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Monticello Methodist Protestant Churchwith burial in Bethshan Cemetery in Monticello. Wilson Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday, from 1-3 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Stephens, 77, died Sept. 27, 2003, at Lawrence CountyHospital. He was born on March 18, 1926, to Mamie Raynes Stephensand Houston Stephens.

He was a retired carpenter and painter. He was a member of theBaptist faith and was a Navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting andfishing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, IvonneA. Stephens; and two brothers, Edward Stephens and WillardStephens;

Survivors are his wife, Virgie Watson Stephens; his daughters,Carol Ann Langston of Silver Creek, Ollie Jean Hamilton ofMonticello, and Sue Everrett of Raymond; his sisters, FrancisJennings of Monticello, Elaine Braswell of Jayess, Alice Cliburn ofPearl, and Linda Goings of Franklinton, La.; his brothers, VictorStephens and Charlie Stephens, both of Monticello; hisstepdaughters, Eva Monroe of Denam Springs, La., Ivy Walters ofGeorgia, and Lula Jean Sanford of Texas; his stepsons, JamesLambert of Denham Springs, La., and Michael Lambert Sr. and OctaveLambert Jr., both of Georgia; six grandchildren; sixstepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
