T.C. Cothern

Services for T.C. Cothern of Jayess are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct.1, at Powells Grove United Pentecostal Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Cothern, 91, died Sept. 29, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Jayess on Jan. 2, 1912, to Ella Alexander Cothern and LouisCothern.

He was a retired mail carrier and farmer. He was an Armyveteran, and a member of Powell’s Grove United PentecostalChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and threebrothers.

Survivors are his wife, Lucy Verlee Cothern; his sons, Nicky T.Cothern of Jackson, and David Cothern of Jayess; his stepdaughter,Myra Nell Stamps of Hattiesburg; his stepson, Jimmy Dale Shoemakerof Hattiesburg; four grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.

Services for Frank Salvador “Sonny” Monte of Magnolia are 2p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church inBaton Rouge, La., with graveside services at 2 p.m., Thursday inMemorial Garden Cemetery in Prattville, Ala. Brookhaven FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Monte, 64, died Sept. 29, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Baton Rouge, La., on Dec. 6, 1938, to Mildred Jones Monteand Sam S. Monte.

He was retired from the produce business.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, AgnesAlbarez; and a brother, Charles Monte.

Survivors are his wife, Glenda G. Monte of Magnolia; his son,Frank S. Monte Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; his sister, Mary Lemonie ofCotton Port, La.; his brothers, Mike Monte of Baker, La., John”J.C.” Monte, Sammy Monte and Joseph Monte, all of Baton Rouge,La., and Jerry Monte of Covington, La.; and two grandchildren.
