Services for Darwin Marion Alexander of Jayess are 2:30 p.m.,Friday, Oct. 10, at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 9, from 5-8 p.m. at CatchingsFuneral Home in McComb, and at 1 p.m. on Friday at Union PrimitiveBaptist Church until the time of the service.

Mr. Alexander, 72, died Oct. 7. 2003, at the MississippiVeteran’s Home in Collins. He was born in Lawrence County on Nov.8, 1930, to Wood Alexander and Carrie Undine Dunaway Alexander.

He was a retired maintenance leadman for Croft Metals with 22years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflictand was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a member of UnionPrimitive Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother and afour-year-old brother, Henry Alexander.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Christine Matthews Alexanderof Jayess; his daughters, Sherry Gieger of Mount Rose, PatriciaBrumfield of Magnolia, and Donna Beck of Terry; his son, DannyAlexander of Jayess; his sisters, Willie Mae Brister of McComb andEunice Greer of Jayess; his brothers, Dewell Alexander and DenverAlexander, both of Jayess; 14 grandchildren and fourgreat-grandchildren.
