Services for Virgie Boyd Brister of Monticello are 11 a.m.,Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Monticello Methodist Protestant Church withburial in Bethshan Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8-10:30a.m., at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brister, 84, died Oct. 12, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Walthall County on July 23, 1919, to John D. Boyd and MaryThornhill Boyd.

She was a retired co-owner of Brister’s Dry Goods in Monticello,and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Monticello MethodistProtestant Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Eugene C.Brister; two brothers, Victor and N.C. Boyd; and two sisters, VadaBoyd and Louvella Andrews.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ben Blakeneyof Monticello; her brother, J.D. Boyd of Jayess; her granddaughtersand spouse, Bridget and Billy Fraysier of Monticello, and AmyBlakeney of Montgomery, Ala.; her grandson and spouse, Brad andJanie Blakeney of Monticello; and her great-grandchildren, KaraBlakeney, Arron Blakeney, Byron Fraysier and Brent Fraysier, all ofMonticello.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries of Brookhaven.
