Winner ready to spend Hometown Bucks

At age 85, Louise Kimble of Loyd Star had never won anything …until now.
Kimble is now a winner of $100 in Hometown Bucks in the thirdweek’s drawing in the The DAILY LEADER’S annual Hometown Christmaspromotion.
“I was very excited. I’m certainly pleased, and Christmas iscoming on soon,” she said after being informed of her winningentry.
Her name was drawn from the special Hometown Bucks box atCountry Fisherman. She registered while dining there last week on atrip to one of her favorite Brookhaven eateries.
She is certain some of her Hometown Bucks will be used forfuture visits to the restaurant. She also plans to use the bucksfor Christmas gifts.
Kimble is grateful for the many businesses involved in thepromotion to encourage local shopping.
“It think it’s simply great. It shows appreciation for thepeople who trade with the businesses, and it does a lot of good forthe people who win,” she said.
Hometown Bucks can be spent at Betty Ann’s, Brookhaven Sports,Brookwood Gifts and Antiques, Country Fisherman, Engravables,Expectations, The Haberdashery of Brookhaven, Millane’s Gift &Bridal Registry, NetSouth, Shipps Flowers, Sisters By Design, SmithBrothers Collision Center & Truck Accessories, The Posey Placeand T.H. Perkins Furniture.
Shoppers can register for the weekly drawings at thoseparticipating businesses, as well as Bank of Brookhaven, State Bankand Trustmark.
Each Friday one name will be drawn from the participatingmerchants, then the winner will be drawn from those names, with agrand prize drawing for $500 in Hometown Bucks on Dec. 12.
Employees of The DAILY LEADER and their families are noteligible to win. Employees of participating merchants may notregister at their respective business, but they may register at anyof the other participating business.
