Woman dies in hunting accident

A Brookhaven woman died Saturday from an apparent huntingaccident, according to authorities.
Debbie Furr, 51, of 1505 Nola Road, was found dead in a woodedarea near her residence by her husband, Bobby Furr, said LincolnCounty Coroner-Medical Examiner Clay McMorris.
“She went hunting about 7:45 a.m.,” McMorris said, and when herhusband couldn’t contact her later, he became worried.
Bobby Furr took off work and went to the area where his wife washunting, McMorris said. He found her dead of a gunshot wound to theupper body, said McMorris.
“It’s always sad this time of year during hunting season to havea fatality,” said McMorris.
Mrs. Furr was pronounced dead at the scene around 2 p.m. byMcMorris. An autopsy was performed Sunday and the investigation isstill ongoing.
