James Francis Doherty

A memorial mass for James Francis Doherty of Sammamish, Wash.,formerly of Brookhaven, was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, atMary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Flintofts Issaquah FuneralHome was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Doherty, 82, died Jan. 4, 2004, at Evergreen Hospice inKirkland, Wash. He was born in Jackson on April 2, 1921, to Jamesand Bette Doherty.
He worked for Boeing Company for 19 years. He served in the Navyfor 26 years, and was a commander at the time of his separation in1968. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.He was raised in Brookhaven, and was a Brookhaven High Schoolgraduate. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and MississippiState College. He enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles,reading and airplanes.
Survivors are his wife, Barbara of Sammamish; his daughters,Anne Doherty and Susan Henry; and his sons, James F. Doherty andStephen Doherty.
