Services for Luther Earl Johnson of the Loyd Star community nearWesson are 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, at Ebenezer African MethodistEpiscopal Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 6 p.m., at WilliamsMortuary, and Sunday from 2-3 p.m., at the church.

Mr. Johnson, 75, died Jan. 14, 2004, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. He was born in Copiah County on May 1, 1928, to MylerJohnson Jr. and Carrie Johnson Henderson.

He was retired, and was a member of Ebenezer African MethodistEpiscopal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, BerniceJohnson; and three brothers, Otha Johnson, William Johnson andHerman Ray Johnson.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Sylvester and Dr. IdaButler of Egg Harbor, N.J.; his sister, Florine Wilson of MichiganCity, Ind.; his brother, Bernard Johnson of New Orleans, La.; hisgrandchildren, Angela Butler of New York, N.Y., and Jason Collinsof Publeo, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren.

Services for Thelma Beard Wyche of Glenwood, Ill. are 11 a.m.,Monday, Jan. 19, at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church with burialin Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church cemetery. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 10-11 a.m., with family present, atthe church.

Mrs. Wyche, 60, died Jan. 12, 2004, at Hinsdale Hospital inHinsdale, Ill. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 31, 1943, toFrank Beard and Lucille Beard.

Preceding her in death were her father; and her sister, FlorineOlive.

Survivors are her mother, Lucille Beard of Chicago, Ill.; herhusband, the Rev. Gearld E. Wyche of Glenwood, Ill.; her son,Victor Beard Payton of Waynesboro; her sisters, Ruth L. Young, OraL. Ward, Ellen A. Beard and Olivia B. Smith, all of Chicago, Ill.;her brothers, Lonnie B. Shannon of Chicago, Ill., John L. Shannonof Indianapolis, Ind., and James E. Beard of Lansing, Mich.; hergrandson, Shaun T. Adams of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces andnephews.
