T.C. “Cornie” Beason
Graveside services for T.C. “Cornie” Beason of Monticello are 3p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Monticello Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at WilsonFuneral Home.
Mr. Beason, 94, died Jan. 27, 2004, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. He was born in Lawrence County on July 30, 1909, to GeorgeMilton Beason and Ursula Griffith Beason.
He was a retired carpenter and retired driver for Herring Gas.He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Amanda”Mandy” Lou Russell Beason.
Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Genola Davis Barlowof Hazlehurst, Margaret Stokes, and Delma and Terry Wallace, all ofMonticello, and Diann and Reggie Berry of New Hebron; his son anddaughter-in-law, Burnell and Flora Joe Beason of Silver Creek; 12grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Mildred Hodges Greer
Graveside services for Dorothy Mildred Hodges Greer of Ruth are2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Whittington-Brister Family Cemetery.Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Greer, 79, died Jan. 26, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on April 20, 1924, to JosephHodges and Maggie Easley Hodges.
She was retired from Textron Industries.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Edwin Lee Greer;four sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors are her husband, Eldon M. Greer of Ruth; her son,Lindeal Greer of Bogue Chitto; her daughter, Lisa G. Clark of Ruth;her brother, Malcolm Hodges of Avondale, Pa.; her grandchildren,Robyn Carbery, Paul Greer, Michael Greer, Randy Greer, Brian Greer,Eric Clark, Taylor Clark and Megan Clark; and eightgreat-grandchildren.
E.K. “Ken” Kelly
Services for E.K. “Ken” Kelly of Cumming, Ga., are 11 a.m.,Friday, Jan. 30, at Cumming Baptist Church.
Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., at McDonaldand Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Cumming.
Mr. Kelly 83, died Jan. 27, 2004. He was born inHarrisville.
He was retired from Southern Bell with 41 and a half years. Hestarted as a technician in the field and retired in the engineeringdepartment at BellSouth headquarters. He served in World War II inthe African, Italian and Southern France campaigns in Gen. Patton’sThird Army. He served in the Korean Conflict as Master Sergeant andearned two Bronze stars. He worked in real estate with NorthsideRealty, where he was a successful member of the Million DollarClub.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Luna Kelly; his daughtersand sons-in-law, Jan and Rick Henderson of Bethlehem, Ga., andBarbara and Dan Palermo of Roswell, Ga.; his son anddaughter-in-law, Steve Sr. and Jane Kelly of Alpharetta, Ga.; andhis grandsons, Steve Kelly Jr., Michael Remick, Tyler Kelly andAaron Palermo.
Beatrice Montgomery
Services for Beatrice Montgomery of Bude are 1 p.m., Wednesday,Jan. 28, at Pentecostal Lighthouse with burial in Midway Cemeteryin Meadville. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Mrs. Montgomery, 89, died Jan. 26, 2004, at Natchez CommunityHospital. She was born in Franklin County on Nov. 16, 1914, toErnest Murray and Arie Clark Murray.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her sons,Joel and Garvice Cotten; two sisters; two brothers; and onegrandson, Joey Cotten.
Survivors are her daughter, Verna McDonough of Vidalia, La.; herbrothers, the Rev. Lairah Murray and Lauvahn Murray, both ofBrookhaven; and a grandchild.
