Beeson signs softball pact with Lady Wolves

Brookhaven Academy standout catcher Amber Beeson has signed afastpitch softball scholarship with the Copiah-Lincoln CommunityCollege Lady Wolves.

“I’m stepping up,” said Beeson at the signing. Beeson held a.413 batting average this season. She received All-District 4-AAhonors.

“She has a real good arm,” said BA softball coach Mike Rhodus.”She has very good hands. She’s very coachable. Amber will be hardto replace next season as catcher.”

Beeson said she has enjoyed playing softball at the Academy. “Ithas been a great year,” smiled Beeson. “I’ve got great friends”

Co-Lin head softball coach Allen Kent said he was happy to haveBeeson on his squad. “Amber has a good work ethic. She’s a realgood athlete.”

Beeson has played other positions besides catcher, includingmidfielder as well as shortstop.

Beeson said she is undecided on a major.

“God has given me the ability,” added Beeson. “I give all theglory to Him.”
