Wolves knock off Bulldogs 3-0

RAYMOND — The Co-Lin Wolves dodged the rain Sunday afternoon tobeat the Hinds Bulldogs 3-0 in baseball action. It was the eighthstraight win for Coach Keith Case’s Wolves.
Co-Lin (10-4) hosts Onondaga (N.Y.) Tuesday for two gamesbeginning at 1 p.m.
“We put the ball in play, but we couldn’t put any hitsback-to-back,” said Case. “We did a good job of doing what we hadto do to win.”
The Wolves scored three runs in the top of the third inning withtwo outs. Guy Alleman singled Jeffrey Waycaster bunted and bothplayers advanced following a wild throw by the pitcher. AaronGuillot belted a hard single to score Alleman for the first run.Waycaster scored the second run and Guillot the third on a CaseyGinn single.
Recording the win was Cole Zumbro (1-1) in six innings with 4strikeouts, 2 walks and 3 hits allowed. Jacob Leggett took for theseventh inning. Matthew Fox worked the eighth and Ryan Belangerfinished the ninth to get the save. Jim Harlow (0-2) allowed 3 runson 7 hits.
“It’s good to have Cole back in the rotation,” added Case.
Hitting safely for the Wolves was Ginn (second hit), BenSandifer, Justin Sykes and Keeyon Sanders.
Raphael Wood had two hits for Hinds. Zach Case and John Parkersingled.
