Lula Etta “Luetta” Douglas

Services for Lula Etta “Luetta” Douglas of College Station,Texas, are 1 p.m., Friday, March 19, at Hillier Funeral Home inBryan, Texas. Services will be conducted by Bro. Wendell Davis ofBrookhaven and Ned Walton of Bryan, Texas. Graveside services are 4p.m., Friday at Chilton Cemetery in Chilton, Texas.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m.until 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Douglas, 94, died March 16, 2004. She was born in Buna,Texas, on Dec. 27, 1909, to Charlie and Julia Vasser.

She was a retired homemaker and seamstress. She lived in CollegeStation over 40 years.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Leonard EmersonDouglas.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Hilda Faye andWendell Davis of Brookhaven, and Etta Marie and Ned Walton ofBryan, Texas; her sons and daughters-in-law, Keithel D. and Jo AnnDouglas of Deer Park, Texas, and Kay V. and Marilynne Douglas ofArlington, Texas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Durwood andGertrude Vasser of Marlin, Texas, and Hollis and Eunice Vasser ofRobinson, Texas; her grandchildren and their spouses, Randy andJeannie Douglas, Rene and Jim Goehring, Mark and Cathy Davis,Stephen and Natalie Davis, Darla Walton, Matthew and JenniferWalton, Timothy and Caren Walton, David and Tammy Douglas andNathan and Melanie Douglas; her stepgrandchildren and theirspouses, Tracy and Ken Kirtley and Lori and Phillip Hamilton; 18great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Robert Lee “Johnny” Quarles

Services for Robert Lee “Johnny” Quarles of Brookhaven are 11a.m., Saturday, March 20, at St. James Missionary Baptist Churchwith burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m., at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Quarles, 47, died March 13, 2004, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Wesson on Feb. 10, 1957, toRobert Lee Quarles Sr. and Inez Quarles.

He was disabled. He had attended Alexander High School.

Preceding him in death were his father; his wife, BelindaQuarles; and his grandfather, Percy Washington.

Survivors are his mother, Inez Quarles of Brookhaven; hisgrandmother, Mary Washington of Brookhaven; his daughters andson-in-law, Stephanie Trevillion of Jackson, and Monique andMichael Gilmore of Sontag; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richardand Debra Quarles, Jerry and Charlene Quarles, James Quarles, BillyQuarles and Jeffery Quarles, all of Brookhaven; his half-brother,Raymond Chism of Brookhaven; five grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anne Belle Wyndham

A memorial service for Anne Belle Wyndham of Brookhaven will beheld at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 20, at Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch.

Mrs. Wyndham, 84, died March 11, 2004. She was born in LincolnCounty on Oct. 9, 1919, to Joseph and Blanche Richardson.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Bobby Joe Laird;a sister, Lillian R. Butler; and four brothers, Edward, Howard,Charles and Shelton Richardson.

Survivors are her sister, Shirley Case of Texas; hergrandchildren, Teresa Ann Emfinger and husband Ernie of Meadville,Kimberly Dawn Conrad of Louisiana, and Bobby Krell Laird of BogueChitto; her great-grandchildren, David Krell Emfinger, Garon O.Weathers, Gavin O. Weathers, all of Meadville, and Kellie D. andJonathan Cole Laird of Bogue Chitto; and many loving nieces andnephews.
