Services for James “Jim” F.B. Mason of Jayess were 11 a.m.,Friday, March 26, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello withburial in Divide Cemetery.
Mr. Mason, 86, died March 24, 2004, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. He was born in Lawrence County on May 24, 1917, to VanJewitte Mason and Minnie King.
He was a retired pastor and carpenter. He was a former pastor ofNew Hope Pentecostal Church in New Hebron, Rock Hill PentecostalChurch in Monticello, and Calvary Pentecostal Church in CrystalSprings. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, a son, foursisters, two brothers and a grandson.
Survivors are his daughters, Bessie Mae Russell of Monticello,and Amelia Ann Jarves of Kennisaw, Ga.; his son, E.J. Mason ofMonticello; his sister, Faye Calhoun of Columbia; sevengrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and onegreat-great-grandchild.
