CLINTON — Twelve errors came back to haunt the BrookhavenPanthers who fell to the No. 15-ranked Clinton Arrows 10-9 in eightinnings of baseball action Saturday afternoon. Clinton committedfour errors.

“It was one of those days,” said Brookhaven head coach RandySpring of the errors. “We played as good as you could in the secondthrough the sixth inning. We had some errors in the first inningand some in the last three.”

Clinton scored the winning run off a Brookhaven error in theeighth inning. The Arrows took advantage of Panther errors in thebottom of the sixth to tie the game at 9-all. Brookhaven led 6-2after two innings and 8-5 after five.

“It shows how potentially good we are,” added Spring.

Pitcher Brooks Hall (2-1) absorbed the loss with 10 runs allowedon 10 hits, five strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Brookhaven was led by Xavier Qualls with a doubleand two singles. Adam Ogden singled three times. Hall ripped twosingles. Doubling was Cody Dunaway and W. T. King. Scotty Smith andDarius Perkins singled.

Junior varsity

Clinton nipped Brookhaven 6-5.

Brookhaven travels to Wingfield Tuesday for more divisionaction. The varsity game begins at 5 p.m.
