Services for Lessie Beatrice Brothern Broom of Brookhaven are 11a.m., Saturday, April 10, at Jericho Church of Christ with burialin the church cemetery.

Mrs. Broom, 69, died April 2, 2004, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Lincoln Countyon Nov. 20, 1934, to Dempsey Brothern and Queen Ester Brothern.

She was a member of Jericho Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her father and a sister, Ruby LeeBryant.

Survivors are her husband, Ulysses Broom of Brookhaven; hermother, Queen Ester Brothern of Brookhaven; her sons, Bennie JamesPearce of Kansas, Mo., Dwayne Broom of Memphis, Tenn., JulianWilliams of Brookhaven, and Carl Williams of Wesson; her sister,Beulah Mae Evans of Brookhaven; her brothers and sisters-in-law,James Dempsey Brothern and wife Ruth, and Jessie Earl Brothern andwife Amy, all of Brookhaven; four grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Virginia Bratcher Ezell

Services for Mary Virginia Bratcher Ezell of Meadville are 1p.m., Friday, April 9, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in LincolnCounty with burial in the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday beginning at 5 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Ezell, 76, died April 7, 2004, at Franklin MemorialHospital. She was born in Ripley, Tenn. on June 28, 1925, to OllieLee Bratcher and Rosa Lee Dennison Bratcher.

She was a member of Meadville Baptist Church and her home churchwas Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, James L. Ezell Sr., herdaughters, Shirley Jean Rushing and Prettillia Joy Farrell; a son,Danny Joe Ezell; and a great-granddaughter, Blair ElizabethEzell.

Survivors are her son, James L. Ezell Jr.; her grandchildren,Kendall Rushing, Angie Rushing, Adam Rushing and Michelle FerrallBriseer, all of Brookhaven, Joseph Matthew Ezell of the WestLincoln community, Paige Ezell Pigott of Zachary, La., Lacie N.Ezell of Roxie, and Tim Cody Ezell of Bude; and sevengreat-grandchildren.

Services for Bernice Mildred Jordan of Bogue Chitto were 11a.m., Tuesday, April 6, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burialin Shady Grove Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Jordan, 80, died April 3, 2004, at Silver Cross NursingHome. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 15, 1923, to WilliamBenjamin Walker and Flora Thames Walker.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters; sevenbrothers; and a great-grandchild, Brittany Roberts.

Survivors are her husband, Travis Jordan Sr. of Bogue Chitto;her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Tommy Crum of Brookhaven;her sons and daughters-in-law, Travis Jordan Jr. and wife Sondra,and Stan and Sandra Jordan, all of Bogue Chitto, and Kenneth andBetty Jordan of Long Beach; her sister, Bertha Kemph of Brookhaven;her brother, Earl Walker of McComb; her grandchildren, Jon and wifeMary, Jay, Jessica, Kristi, Ashlee, Stancie, Jack, Josh, and Drewand wife Heather; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Piper, Reagan,Garrett, Savannah, Jordan, Jacob, Abbie and Emily.

Mrs. Keith, 78, died April 5, 2004, at St. Dominic Hospital inJackson. She was born in East View, Ky., on March 21, 1926, toEarnest Blair and Mamie Berry Blair.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and abrother.

Survivors are her daughters, Barbara Brown of Wesson, andDorothy Jean Lively of Rough and Ready, Calif.; and her sons, JamesWesley Keith of Homestead, Fla., and Larry Joseph Keith of Hayward,Calif.

Inez Hall Ray

Services for Inez Hall Ray of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Friday,April 9, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MonticelloUnited Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ray, 86, died April 6, 2004, at her residence.

She was a homemaker, whose many talents included cooking,sewing, canning and gardening. She was a member of MonticelloMethodist Church. She was a native of Coffeeville. She marriedWilliam A. Ray in 1936, and they raised three daughters inCranfield. They moved to Monticello in the late 1960s, and livedthere until 2000 when they moved to Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Benjamin F. and EstelleDees Hall; her husband; two sisters, Katie Lynn Hall and Nora HallNelson; and a brother, Wilbourn “Buddy” Hall.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Roger Boyd,and Sue and Mike Windham, all of Brookhaven, and Judy and SteveCliburn of Monticello; her sisters, Mary Nell Balducci of Shelby,and Mrs. A.V. (Pat) Crosthwait of Grenada; her grandchildren, ScottBoyd of Jackson and Macon, Eric Boyd of Brookhaven, Catherine Byrdof Petal, Todd Windham and Ben Windham, both of Oxford, and JustinWindham of Jackson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Roberts, 85, died April 4, 2004, in Lincoln County. He wasborn in Lincoln County on June 14, 1918, to Virgil Roberts andLizzie Roberts.

He was a member of Ebenezer African Methodist EpiscopalChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Beulah R.Roberts; two daughters, Helen Jean Drake and Laura E. Roberts; hersisters, Malissa Gooden, Clara Mae Dickey, Mamie Newton, VoirceGooden and Katie Mae Roberts; and her brothers, Henry Roberts andFrank Roberts.

Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Augustine and JohnStewart of Waco, Texas, Janice and David Smith, and Catherine”Cookie” Tillman, all of Brookhaven; his sons and daughter-in-law,the Rev. Luther Bernard Roberts, and Virgil R. and Cora Roberts,all of Brookhaven; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty Jo Walker

Services for Betty Jo Walker of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Friday,April 9, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-9 p.m., and 9-10:30 a.m., atCommunity Funeral Services Chapel.

Mrs. Walker, 57, died April 6, 2004, at Silver Cross NursingHome. She was born in Lincoln County on July 21, 1946, to WilliamClyde Walker and Alice Lucille Allgood.

She was disabled. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and MelIasigi of Brookhaven; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton andErnestine Walker, and Loyd and Jeraldine Walker, all of Brookhaven;and several nieces and nephews.
