Services for Christine Davis Phillips of Monticello were 11a.m., Thursday, April 15, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burialin New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips died April 13, 2004, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. She was born in Lawrence County on Feb. 23, 1916, to WillieA. Cox and Laura Maxwell Cox.

She was a retired sales clerk with Lofton’s Department Store.She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and the Eastern Star inMonticello.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, ErnestDavis and Roland Phillips; a daughter; and two brothers.

Survivors are her sons, Gary Davis and Don Davis, both ofMonticello; her sisters, Ellen Rainwater and Ruth Leak, both ofBaton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren; and 10great-grandchildren.
