Memorial services for Leanne Berry of Canton, Ill., formerly ofHazlehurst, are 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17, at Stronghope BaptistChurch with burial in the church cemetery. Community FuneralServices is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Berry, 41, died April 12, 2004, at Renaissance Care Center.She was born in Hazlehurst on Sept. 14, 1962, to Guynes E. “Gene”Cagle and Glenda S. (Lemon) Cagle.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Brookstown BaptistChurch in Baton Rouge, La.

Preceding her in death were her mother and a sister, ConnieMcMunus.

Survivors are her father and stepmother, Guynes “Gene” and NormaH. Cagle of Denham Springs, La.; her son, Christopher Berry ofFlorida; her brother, Christopher Cagle of Brookhaven; and hergrandmother, Hazel Cagle of Hazlehurst.

Memorials may be made to Renaissance Care Center or Spoon RiverHospice of Graham Hospice.

Services for Jim Hockett Sr. of Roxie are 11 a.m., Saturday,April 17, at St. Peter Rock Baptist Church in Cranfield with burialin Zion Cemetery in Roxie.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m., with family presentfrom 6-7 p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Hockett, 81, died April 12, 2004, at Adams County NursingCenter in Natchez. He was born in Franklin County on Aug. 4, 1922,to Will Hockett and Hattie Bolden Hockett.

He was a former construction worker. He was an Army veteran, andwas a member of St. Peter Rock Baptist Church in Cranfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents and seven brothers andsisters.

Survivors are his wife, Thelma Hammond Hockett of Roxie; hissons, Jim Hockett Jr. of Roxie, and Rickey Hockett of Brookhaven;seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of niecesand nephews.
