Jasper Hall signs with Meridian

Brookhaven High senior Jasper Hall has signed a basketballscholarship to play for Meridian Community College.
Hall, a 6-3 forward, finished his senior year with 16.6 points,7.9 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game for second-year head boysbasketball coach Ronald Hines. The Panthers ended their season14-16.
Hall was also selected to the DAILY LEADER’S Lincoln County boysbasketball team.
“I like their program,” said Hall about his decision to signwith Meridian. He is undecided on a major.
“Jasper will go in as wing,” explained Hines. “He improveddramatically”
Hines got Hall to move to forward this year. He had previouslyplayed center. Hines wanted Hall to shoot the basketball more.
“He (Jasper) wanted to be like his brother Lamar,” said Hines.Lamar attends Mississippi College and is playing for theChoctaws.
“He is more athletic now than he has been,” added Hines. “Heplayed more outside. His numbers went up and he enjoyed that. Hestarted to listen to what we needed him to do.”
Hall appreciated Hines and his help the last two years.
“I want to thank Coach Hines for all the traveling he did withme last summer,” said Hall. Hall played in the summer basketballleague with the Jackson Tigers.
“It got him more experience,” explained Hines. “We have to playmore .
Hines fells Hall is ready academically and athletically to moveup to the next level.
“He’s a good kid,” added Hines. “His grades are where theyshould be. He has been doing good since I’ve been here.”
