Services for Gary E. Carter of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly ofVicksburg, are 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, at Wright & FergusonFuneral Home Chapel in Clinton with burial in Riverwood Cemetery inBrookhaven.
Visitation is Tuesday from 12:30-2 p.m., at the funeralhome.
Mr. Carter, 43, died Friday, April 30, 2004, in Murfreesboro. Hewas born in Columbus and raised in Jackson.
He was employed with Creating An Environment for Success inMurfreesboro. He was a 1977 graduate of Mississippi BaptistAcademy. He attended Hinds Junior College and graduated fromMississippi College in 1983. He attended New Orleans BaptistTheological Seminary. He served in the bus ministry at ParkwayBaptist Church and as youth minister at Easthaven Baptist Church.He also worked for Jitney-Jungle Stores of America, Gateway RescueMission in Jackson and served as director of the River City RescueMission in Vicksburg.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edwin P. Carter andLena Keith Carter.
Survivors are his wife, Melinda Lea Carter of Vicksburg; hisaunts, Marjorie Keith, Mary Jane Barnett and Mary Keith, all ofJackson; and other relatives, Jim Keith, Vagn Hansen, Glenda Owens,Mike Keith, Nancy Bounds, Roland and Doris Lea, Reggie Lea, ToddLea, Dwana Lea Wright, Rosanna Lea, Laura Beth Wright, Austin Leaand Coker Wright.
