Services for Geraldine Smith Rushing of Brookhaven were 10 a.m.,Thursday, May 20, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mrs. Rushing, 73, died May 17, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on May 27, 1930, to Edgar J.Smith and Mary Case Smith.

She was a homemaker. She loved farming and raising cattle. Shewas a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, MeltonRushing Sr.; and her brother, Jennings Smith.

Survivors are her sister, Donis Walker of Walker, La.; herniece, Daphne Eads of Walker; her nephew, Don H. Walker of Katy,Texas; five great-nieces and nephews; and twogreat-grandnieces.
